I recently got a keyless entry system. I wanted local control so I added some switches and relays. The latching relays are for future addition features.

These automotive relays are $1.64 each. The bi-stable (latching) relays are about twenty eight each if you can find them.
Keep factory radio and have amp for carputer sound. WinAmp and map speak.
